“Since 1993 we have been producing theatre for young audiences, with more than 4,000 performances over the past 30 years. We have received awards, toured internationally, discovered countless motorway service areas, and even met real pirates. Theatre is our profession. Yes, a real P-r-o-f-e-s-s-i-o-n. We are based in the Marche region, in the province of Ancona, where we manage theatres and curate theatre seasons and festival programmes in partnership with local authorities, public bodies and schools. Audience development, teacher training and professional development for theatre practitioners have always been central to our mission. Since 1983 we have organised the Rassegna Nazionale Teatro Scuola Educazione; for this reason, we have been officially recognised as a Training Body by the Ministry of Education (since 2009) and by Regione Marche (since 2013). TEATRO GIOVANI TEATRO PIRATA IMPRESA SOCIALE has been working in theatre for young audiences since 1994, operating at a national level and officially recognised by the Ministry of Culture as a Production Company (since 1999), and by the Ministry of Education (2009) and Regione Marche (2005) as a Training Body. The company has always been distinguished by its commitment to integrating professional theatre practice with educational and socially engaged work connected to schools and communities. From the outset, its dual core activities have been closely intertwined: the production and touring of performances alongside audience development and training initiatives, delivered through theatre seasons, educational pathways, workshops and special projects. The organisation maintains a strong and widespread presence throughout the Marche region, managing theatre venues connected within a dynamic and virtuous cultural network. Production and territorial development form a binary code that fuels our creative and organisational vitality.

La filiera educativa-formativa/culturale Our educational and cultural pathway includes initiatives — beginning with the Rassegna Nazionale Teatro Scuola Educazione — aimed at training teachers, students, social workers, educators, cultural mediators, and users of socio-healthcare services addressing disability and mental health. Through theatre in education and socially engaged theatre practices, we promote a widespread culture of both “theatre” and “making theatre” as tools for individual and collective growth, inclusion and social integration.
