The Adventures of Pulcino

It all begins in a small workshop where Gelsomina lives — part ragamuffin, part child — making her living as a “fixer of things.” Every morning, at the same time, accompanied by her trusty radio, she opens her shop. One day, an old suitcase arrives containing Pulcino, a little stuffed chick who, once repaired, begins a new life. And so begin the adventures of Pulcino, searching for a mother — because, as everyone knows, the first thing a little one looks for is their mother! Helping him on this quest, alongside Gelsomina, comes 3×2, a quirky little space duck who arrives in a spaceship made from a jumble of kitchen utensils and takes the lead of the expedition: “Find a Mother for Pulcino.” Their journey takes them through a stinky city made of cardboard, a forest of umbrellas and fans, and finally an enormous blue sea. Amid discoveries, adventures, and encounters with unlikely mothers, we follow Pulcino’s story until the final scene, under a starry sky, where he finally finds love and serenity in Gelsomina’s arms. The performance is created using found objects, with puppets manipulated on a large table that transforms into the base for each scene. The show is enhanced by original music and live songs. Designed for very young audiences, it can also be performed in non-theatre spaces such as schools, courtyards, and community venues.
